The same is true if I open the notebook in Chrome browser. The frustrating thing is: when i open the same notebook in VS Code, it is much faster (no issues with VS code ui being laggy or laggy typing). Notebook wise, the notebook contains 400 cells (so in total around 4000 lines of code). I am not using a slow machine by any means (macbook pro 2020, intel 10th gen i5). Also, when i scroll in my notebook i can see high cpu spikes, the same for typing. The strange thing: when i open another file in my folder Pycharm becomes much quicker again. furthermore navigating the pycharm UI when the notebook is opened is also very laggy. If i try to type in a cell it takes 5 seconds for a character to show up. To no avail, just opening the notebook in the editor still slows down Pycharm severely. I have tried wiping all the results from the notebook as well. I have not even started the jupyter server. However, I noticed that only opening this notebook in Pycharm slows down the entire UI by a lot. I use a jupyter notebook for this purpose (in pycharm). I am using Pycharm Professional 2023.1 version for data analysis and machine learning for a university project.
